Severe Weather Clears, Temperatures to Drop Below Freezing Tonight

As homeowners and emergency crews begin cleaning up from Sunday morning’s severe storms, Severe Weather Team 2 confirms that the threat of any more severe weather is over.

Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz reported, “By 9 a.m., a few sprinkles may linger, but that’s about it.” Throughout the day, gusty winds of up to 30 mph will persist, accompanied by dropping temperatures.

A wind advisory is in effect until noon. Nitz warned that with the combination of the morning storms and continued high winds, falling trees remain a hazard.

By 11 p.m., temperatures will plunge to about 30 degrees across the metro area, and by Monday morning’s rush hour, the mercury will dip into the upper 20s.

Residents are urged to prepare for freezing temperatures and exercise caution due to strong wind gusts and potential fallen trees.
